Upper Parts Product engineer – Full time

We are looking for a Product engineer to join Upper parts team. Upper Parts team is in charge of the development of the structures that will make the interface between the launcher and the various payloads (customer satellites).

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of one of the Upper Parts Structures (LVA, PAF, Clamp Band...) from requirement synthesis and follow-up, the partners selection for detailed design and/or manufacturing to the reception and test planification of the parts and prototypes. In strong interaction with the launch system architects, the synthesis of the definition for parts in your perimeter and their interfaces will also be part of your activities.

Your tasks will be the following:

  • Development of upper parts structure. 

    • Definition synthesis including interfaces clarification with other teams and launch system architects.

    • Development plan logic establishment

    • Make or buy strategy proposition & possible partnerships on the products.

    • Design and manufacturing requirements synthesis & adaptation to supplier feed-back

    • Subcontractors and partners follow-up (from RFI, development, production and tests to reception and integration at MaiaSpace Launch site)

    • Participate in the development of hardware demonstration test campaigns (beginning with sub-system test to full scale integrated system) to validate the selected concepts in collaboration with the production teams. 

  • Documentation

    • Prepare, ensure consistency & validate all documents & reports associated to the structures under its responsibilities.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including design, sizing, manufacturing, and testing teams, to ensure all structural requirements are met.

    • Contribute to the engineering effort of your team and cross-functionally between teams, even if it involves work outside your main field of action, in order to contribute to the vehicle system synthesis.

🎓 Qualification

  • Education: master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in structure development in the aerospace industry, or related field.

  • Technical skills:

    • Contribute to the engineering effort of your team and cross-functionally between teams, even if it involves work outside your main field of action, in order to contribute to the vehicle system synthesis.

    • Product Design & conception

    • Structures & mechanisms design & development

    • Contract management

    • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, ...)

  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in structural assessments.

  • Language: Good English level to read and write technical documentation, to perform oral technical presentation and to interact on technical topics

  • Communication Skills: written and verbal communication skills to document analysis and communicate technical results effectively.

  • Soft skills: Team spirit, sharing and solidarity. Pragmatism, rigor and precision.
