Job description

MaiaSpace is a European space tech company designing, operating and commercializing space transportation solutions for small spacecrafts. We are driven by the belief that space stands as a major enabler for a better and more sustainable life on Earth. Our first and primary focus is on prototyping a reusable small launcher, building upon technologies and capabilities that bridge Newspace agility and Legacy space know-how. We are open-minded, transparent, pragmatic, result oriented and definitely people centric.

Working at MaiaSpace

Company and team organisation follows the Agile and Scrum approach (SAFE framework). Engineering is organized in small teams focused on a product that brings together polyvalent profiles rather than hyper-specialists. Meaning that your field of action is likely to evolve, depending on your skills and on your Team priorities for each « sprint » period. Your work will be hands-on and in close contact with the final product.

The Company has offices in Paris and industrial/test facilities in Vernon (Normandie). The internship will be mainly based in La Defense - Paris. Working language are English and/or French.

Your mission

Within the System Engineering Team, you will work at the heart of our launcher design. Your primary objective is to guarantee the consistency of the vehicle’s functional sequencing across all subsystems.

You will be responsible for managing the sequential parameters within the MaiaSpace centralized database. Your day-to-day tasks will include :

1 – Synthesis of functional sequences

  • Review current sequential flows (ignition, separation, stage cut-offs, etc.) to identify inconsistencies.

  • Interface directly with subsystem engineers (such as Fluidic Propulsion, GNC, Avionics) to extract specific timing triggers and command states.

2 – Database integration

  • Map all extracted sequential parameters into the MaiaSpace internal database.

  • Harmonize these inputs to create a baseline for the launcher’s timeline.

  • Manage Change Requests (CRs): Track modifications introduced and update the database accordingly to maintain a clear baseline

3 - Tool Development & Automation

  • Detect errors or "gaps" in the sequence automatically using code rather than manual checking

4 - Methodological Handover

  • Define a checklist procedure or a "Database Maintenance Process" document.

that ensures the database remains up-to-date after your departure, serving as a guide for future interns or permanent staff.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the complexity of system integration in a small launcher environment.

  • Master the concept of baseline in configuration management.

  • Apply agile methods (Scrum) in a fast-paced engineering context.

  • Soft Skills: Autonomous, high sense of rigor (crucial for database accuracy), and able to synthesize complex information quickly.

  • Bonus: Prior experience with launch vehicles

Date and working site

  • Working Site: La Défense.

  • Desired start date: Q3-Q4 2026
