Upper Parts CAD designer – 2/3 days per week
We are looking for a CAD designer to join Upper parts team. Upper Parts team is in charge of the development of the structures that will make the interface between the launcher and the various payloads (customer satellites).
In this role, you will be responsible for design of Upper Parts components and their accommodations onto the launcher from the preliminary design concept to detailed design for manufacturing purchase order.

Your tasks will be the following:
Design - Definition of Concept:
- Realize CAD design to establish concept, contribute to requirement definition, perform trade off, establish mass budget, identify risks, and propose study next steps.
- Interact with teams to understand constraints and needs, negotiate if needed, conduct functional analysis of structures
- Document the results.
- Contribution to the overall launch system definition
Design – Procurement Follow up:
- Update external supplier designs, define and maintain BOM, calculate and analyze cost chains,
- Support CONOPS to develop procedure
BOM architect: Maintain CAD assembly as reference for deposited design in a PDM vault.
Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of design investigated and trade off realized.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including FE analysis, manufacturing, and testing teams, to ensure all structural requirements are met.
- Contribute to the engineering effort of your team and cross-functionally between teams, even if it involves work outside your main field of action, in order to contribute to the vehicle system synthesis.
🎓 Qualification
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in structural analysis in the aerospace industry, or related field.
🛸 Skills
- Technical skills: CAD design proficiency on SolidWorks, PDM Vault experience, creativity and conceptual design experiences.
- Knowledge of materials: metallic & composite material shall be beneficial for the activities
- Problem Solving: Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Language: English level sufficient to read and write technical documentation, to perform oral technical presentation and to interact on technical topics
- Communication Skills: written and verbal communication skills to document analysis and communicate technical results effectively.
- Soft skills: Team spirit, sharing and solidarity. Pragmatism, rigor and precision.
