Job description

MaiaSpace aims at providing an affordable access to space thanks to its reusable launcher. As a launch industry market entrant, our teams dedicate a lot of time and energy to monitor recurring costs.

In this context, the “Industrialization” team provides the launch system development teams with tools and best practices in order to help them reach their cost targets. Since Day 1, a design-to-cost approach has been adopted at MaiaSpace to produce a cost-effective launcher and our teams implement all the necessary actions to keep our costs on target.


Internship description: 

As an intern, you will join the "Industrialization" team, a transverse team dedicated to ensuring the bridge from prototypes production to serial production and support our colleagues on procurement activities.

 

You will work on launcher topics alongside the procurement team,and interact with all other launcher team in the company.

 

Your mission will cover (but not be limited to) the following areas:

·       Develop and update a supplier catalogue for standard items to procure for launcher by category (screws, sensors, connections, valves…), referencing supplier by manufacturing processes and core activities.

·       Take active part to procurement activities (for development, tests and launcher): sourcing, preparing purchase order, dealing with long lead items (LLI) to secure wrt required delivery dates           

·       Working in close coordination with launcher project team, identify the mutualisation of items to procure for the whole launcher (for screws and bolts, sensors, connectors…).

Job requirements

Qualification: Master’s student involved in an aerospace/industrial engineering degree with an interest in business issues, procurement and costing. 

Skills required: 

·       Experience with Excel is required, and Power BI is a plus.

·       Interest in the space sector, and the launcher industry in particular.

·       Knowledge in procurement is required.

·       Knowledge in systems engineering is required.

·       Knowledge of manufacturing techniques is required.

·       Knowledge in design and analysis of aerospace structures (especially launchers), including would be a plus.

·       Strong interpersonal skills are required.

·       Fluency in English and French is required.

Internship duration: 5 to 6 months (flexible start date)
