Control Command Hardware Engineer – EGSE & Industrial Automation

Within the Avionics Group, the Control Command EGSE team develops and operates industrial Control Command systems used for launcher integration, validation and launch operations.

The position focuses on the specification, integration, validation and operation of industrial automation and hardware architectures for Control Command and Electrical Ground Support Equiment (EGSE) systems.

Main activities include:

  • Design and integration of Control Command hardware architectures, electrical cabinets and industrial networks. 

  • Integration of Siemens PLC environments, Remote I/O systems and industrial field equipment. 

  • Development and validation of redundant and safety-related PLC architectures involving SIL-oriented systems. 

  • Definition of electrical schematics, wiring plans and hardware interfaces. 

  • Integration of industrial communication protocols and field buses such as OPC UA, Profinet, Profisafe and Modbus. 

  • Hardware integration, commissioning, addressing tests, electrical validation and troubleshooting activities. 

  • Calibration, metrology and validation of sensors, actuators and command organs. 

  • Power budget and electrical consumption assessments. 

  • Design activities considering environmental and operational constraints such as thermal, vibration, humidity and ATEX environments. 

  • Integration and validation activities on HWIL, Iron Bird and launch facilities. 

Pré-requis du poste

🛾 General competences & abilities

  • Strong experience in industrial automation and Control Command systems. 

  • Strong experience with industrial electrical systems and automation hardware integration. 

  • Experience with Siemens automation environments, especially TIA Portal. 

  • Good understanding of PLC architectures, Remote I/O systems and industrial supervision systems. 

  • Good understanding of industrial communication protocols and field buses such as OPC UA, Profinet, Profisafe and Modbus. 

  • Knowledge of redundant PLC, high-availability and SIL-oriented architectures. 

  • Experience with electrical schematics, instrumentation, wiring plans and industrial cabinet integration. 

  • Experience with commissioning, addressing tests, validation procedures and troubleshooting activities. 

  • Knowledge of calibration, metrology and electrical validation activities. 

  • Knowledge of environmental and industrial constraints (thermal, vibration, humidity, EMC, ATEX). 

  • Ability to establish power budgets and characterize system performances. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to work in complex multidisciplinary environments.

  • Willingness to travel to French Guiana as part of job requirements.

🛾 Preferred Experience

  • Experience with launch systems, command & control systems or critical industrial infrastructures. 

  • Experience with HWIL, Iron Bird or industrial validation platforms. 

  • Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity constraints.

  • Familiarity with IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 and SIL2/SIL3 environments.

🎓 Qualification

  • Engineering degree (Bac+5 or equivalent) in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Systems or related domains. 

  • 2 to 7 years of relevant experience.
